1. In Rank Correlation Coefficient the observations or measurements of the bivariate variable is based on the ordinal scale in the form of ranks. 2. The size of the coefficient is directly affected by the size of the rank differences. (a) If the ranks are the same for both tests, each rank difference will be zero and ultimately D 2 will be zero. This means that the correlation is perfect; i.e. 1.00.
