In Eastern Christianity, contemplation literally means to see God or to have the Vision of God. The state of beholding God, or union with God, is known as theoria. Betrachtung (published in English as Meditation or Contemplation) is a collection of eighteen short stories by Franz Kafka written between 1904 and 1912.
